Elk Run Church Historical Site

Elk Run Church Historic Site

The St. Stephens congregation spearheaded the acquisition and development of the Elk Run Church Historic Site, which is now managed by Fauquier County Parks and Recreation.

Tour the Mini-Museum to view a segment of the 1750’s church foundation, as well as some of the artifacts discovered during the seven year archaeological dig.

Some display highlights include:
• The Manahoac Indians, who occupied the area before Virginia settlers.
• History of the nearby Germantown settlement and relationship with the Church.
• Highlights of the Anglican Church in Colonial Virginia.
• Chief Justice John Marshall, Midland native.
• Details and discoveries of the archaeological dig.
• Informative outdoor site markers.
